The Hall of Sunken Dreams
Recovered after years of slumber on the silent ocean floor, ship wood transformed into fine art furniture.
At once an incredible recycling project and the birth of a superb new genre of art, the Hall of Sunken Dreams features fine furniture composed of wood retrieved from shipwrecks on the bottom of the Taiwan Strait. Robert Y has deliberately preserved the unique patterns and colors brought about by sun, wind, water pressure, and the passage time. Through his designs, and Clitfford Kong’s masterful craftwork, wood saved from rot and waste is reborn. Displaying limbs, spirit, and thought, these are unique works of haunting beauty.
